Wiwynn's showcasing at the OCP Summit 2023 took center stage with its groundbreaking Advanced Cooling and AI products. Wiwynn's focus on sustainability and efficiency was evident as they unveiled their state-of-the-art cooling solutions, designed to optimize data center performance while reducing environmental impact. Simultaneously, their AI products showcased the company's commitment to staying at the forefront of artificial intelligence in data center management. These advanced cooling and AI products from Wiwynn promise to revolutionize data center operations, setting new standards for efficiency and intelligence in the industry. The company's presence at OCP Summit 2023 left a lasting impression and reaffirmed their position as a driving force in the world of open-source hardware and data center technology.
Here, we wanted to share this recap to provide you with an insider's perspective.
For AI training, Wiwynn’s Gemini, built upon the OCP Grand Teton, adopts a modular approach, accommodating a diverse range of CPU trays, accelerator trays, and bridge trays (including switch, NIC, SSD, memory) to meet various accelerating scenarios. It will support cutting-edge solutions from prominent technology leaders, including NVIDIA, Intel, Intel Habana, AMD, and more. Additionally, by integrating with Wiwynn’s cold-plate liquid cooling solution, the Gemini platform not only fulfills the formidable computing power requirements demanded by AI applications but also optimizes power performance, thereby ensuring data center sustainability. This translates into an extensive array of choices and TCO optimization benefits for data centers in the AI era.
For edge AI applications, Wiwynn® ES200G2 stands as an openEdge server, supporting two dual-width FHFL PCIe Gen5 x16 PCIe cards, such as the NVIDIA L40S GPU. Its compact, short-depth form factor fits seamlessly into diverse edge locations while offering flexible support for all-in-one private 5G CU/DU functionality, edge AI lightweight training, and AI inference. It is the ideal solution for edge-centric applications such as smart manufacturing, autonomous vehicles, and CDNs, where AI support for real-time, low-latency applications is paramount.
At the booth, Wiwynn displayed one of its headliners, Aqualoop, an OCP ORv3 liquid cooling solution with blind-mate tube features plus advanced cooling management system. This rack level solution is modular and can support heat rejection by air, or external facility water. In addition, Wiwynn also showcased its latest collaborative project with OCP partners, a total solution of liquid-cooled AI server integrated with a standalone heat rejection unit (HRU) to enhance thermal performance for power-hungry AI acceleration servers.
Visitors can also experience Wiwynn’s advanced cooling management solution innovation, the UMS100, DC-SCM-based universal cooling management system, integrated with the CDU solution from Auras Technology, an industry-leading thermal solution expert. This new solution is only the tip of the iceberg following the signing of a MoU for long-term collaboration in liquid cooling space.
