Wiwynn, Your Open RAN and Cloud IT Infra Provider, is to exhibit at MWC Barcelona 2023 with its latest 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors (Code name Sapphire Rapids) based edge computing server EP100G2.
Wiwynn’s latest all-in-one platform for 5G RAN, Core, and MEC, would significantly minimize the complexity of your private network. As each node works individually, you may not only flexibly maintain or upgrade the system, but also adjust the resource allocation of 5G Core, CU, and DU as required.
Adopting the OCP OpenEDGE platform, the short-depth form factor is perfect for service providers to deploy edge applications on existing facilities. And its 3U chassis is designed to accommodate five new 1U server sleds, while it can be replaced with one or two 2U server sleds for higher performance needs.
Leveraging our proficiency in server design and manufacturing, Wiwynn actively works with eco-system partners to create synergies of combining expertise from hardware, software, and solution integration.
Multiple Wiwynn Edge Servers can be integrated into a lightweight RAN cluster with zero touch management. CU, DU or 5GC instances will be run on K8S-based O-Cloud. When a DU has an outage, the system checks how to self-heal and re-connect to RU. If the server failed, the DU will be migrated to another live server and redirect RU to this new DU instance to minimize the impact of UE. Even if there is a fronthaul hardware issue, DU will find a spare fronthaul to resume the service.
For different industry vertical applications, Wiwynn’s open RAN solution is designed to reduce infrastructure complexity and meet the field environmental constraints, and its short-depth form factor is perfect for diverse edge locations. With Wiwynn optimized solutions, you can realize 5G and create more possibilities, which people could never imagine before.
In the examples below, you will find the use cases that we have been closely working with our ecosystem partners.
In this use case, Wiwynn partnered with Ciena, Capgemini and Airspan to deploy this 5G in a box in-building solution in a smart factory located in Germany. Wiwynn provided the OCP compliant Open Edge Server as our all-in-one solution, hosting the DU, CU, 5GC, and MEC applications.
According to the factory manager and system integrator (Ciena), implementations of this PoC could solve real world problems and use cases by leveraging 5G capabilities, including processing real time, low latency applications like AGV Robot, AR/VR, and real time video streaming with AI.

Video streaming is on the rise and HAWE Telekom's new Edge Datacenter CDN system is at the forefront. The system enables low latency streaming of online events, starting with the popular MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) events. MMA is growing in popularity as a sport and entertainment. In the CDN, video is firstly captured at a broadcast studio and then sent to a central cloud location for content aggregation.
After being organized and consolidated, the video is then distributed to Edge Point of Presence (PoPs) for end-user viewing. Hawe Telekom ensures nationwide accessibility by distributing Edge PoPs in major and smaller cities in Poland. In partnership with Wiwynn, HAWE’s CDN system uses Wiwynn’s ES200 custom-made MEC server with flexible storage and I/O for high performance, enabling fast and high-speed streaming for the future.
